The Slovenian Monarchic Union (SMZ), founded in 2019, unites Slovenian monarchists who advocate for the return of the Habsburg Monarchy. It is a unique example of monarchism in Slovenia, as it is the first Slovenian pro-Habsburg organization after the collapse of the Habsburg Monarchy in 1918.
Despite the small size of the union, its members are actively involved.
SMZ was a member of the pan-european The Hapsburg Restoration Movement until it's dissolution in 2022. In 2020, the official slovene translation of the movement's manifest was published.
SMZ currently SMZ works closely with the Danubian Restoration Movement (DRM), whose goal is restoration of the Habsburg rule in the Danubian Monarchy's main successor-states; Austria, Czechia, Croatia, Hungary, Slovakia and Slovenia. Additionally, SMZ also has a representative in the Holy Crown Movement (SZKM), whose aims are generally the same as the ones of DRM.
